UltraThin LEDs

Among our thinnest LEDs, Cree UltraThin LEDs are an ideal choice wherever high brightness, sub-miniaturization and thinner form factors are required, such as

  • Mobile phone keypads
  • Audio product display lighting
  • Mobile appliance keypads
  • Automotive applications

Cree UltraThin LEDs are available in two lines, 5.5 mW and 8 mW. Their features include

  • 5.5 mW performance
    • 5.5 mW min – Blue (455-475 nm)
    • 2.5 mW min – Traffic Green (500-510 nm)
    • 2.5 mW min – Green (520-535 nm)
    • Low Forward Voltage (2.9-3.0 V typical at 5 mA)
  • 8 mW performance
    • 8.0 mW min Blue (455-475 nm)
    • Low Forward Voltage – 3.3 V typical at 20 mA
  • Small chip
  • Single wire bond structure
  • Class 2 ESD rating

Like all Cree LEDs, UltraThin LEDs combine highly efficient InGaN materials with Cree's proprietary G·SiC® substrate to deliver superior price/performance for high-intensity LEDs. These LED chips have a geometrically enhanced design to maximize light-extraction efficiency.

Cree UT series chips are compatible with most radial and SMT LED assembly processes.
